Digitization did not alter the industry - just encouraged consumers to pay again for music (CDs) they already owned in vinyl form. It was the combination of digital music, the internet and peer-to-peer file sharing that was the transformational fulcrum. I suspect that some form of AI, at a fulcrum point, will have similarly transformational consequences.
